Roland GR-55 is a guitar synthesizer combining PCM synthesis with COSM modeling, driven by a GK divided pickup and fully controllable over MIDI.

A triple-core engine runs up to four sound sources at once: two PCM synth tones with over 900 editable Roland sounds, plus COSM guitar modeling and the normal guitar pickup signal. The modeling and pickup tones feed a set of COSM amp models and effects while the PCM synths have their own multi-effects, and everything can be routed into an onboard phrase looper.

COSM modeling covers virtual guitars, basses and amps, including an emulation of the classic GR-300.

MIDIDeviceManager communicates with the GR-55 directly over SysEx, building its complete Patch Library automatically — no file to download or import.
