POD 2
Line 6 POD 2.0 is a desktop guitar amp modeler and direct recording preamp with full MIDI control over its stored tones.
Released in 2000 as the successor to the original POD, it raised the count of modeled amplifiers to 32 and added cabinet emulation, alongside 16 digital effects and 36 factory/user preset locations. A 16-way rotary switch selects the amp model and a second selects the effect, and an onboard tuner and tube-preamp model are included. Line6
MIDI In and Out are provided, allowing program changes to recall channel memories and SysEx transfers to back up or exchange complete sets of tones.
With MDM: the POD 2 supports direct SysEx import — MDM asks the unit for its patch list over MIDI and builds a searchable index from what the instrument actually holds, with nothing to download and nothing to type. Once imported, MDM changes patches over Program Change, and Scenes, Setlists and footswitch triggering all work as usual.
